Zhao Wei zipped into Jaeger-LeCoultre's manufacturing quarters in the famed Valley de Joux recently, for a tour hosted by CEO Jerome Lambert. During her trip, the award-winning actress and friend of the brand was given an intimate walk-through of all the different stages of watch manufacturing, from decoration and assembly. The tour encompassed an overview of the astonishing 500 complicated calibres created in-house by a dedicated pool of artisans.
Zhao Wei particularly admired the intricate gem setting and enamelling techniques that went into *** the Rendez-Vous, a new ladies' High Jewellery watch by the Swiss Grande Maison. When asked about her thoughts about the visit, Zhao Wei said: “I love mechanical watches, it gives you the feeling that you can control your time and what you are doing,”
“I have attended several events wearing Jaeger-LeCoultre watches. They match my aesthetic standard and style. I think Jaeger-LeCoultre watches carry very profound meanings, craftsmanship and history." Earlier this year, Zhao Wei presented Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Rendez-Vous ladies’ watch collection during the Shanghai Film Festival, and graced the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival with the new women's bejeweled watch on her wrist.
